X Stitch Cutie Quilt -- Machine Quilting on a Home Sewing Machine

Have you ever loved a quilt so much that you continued to pet it for several days after you finished it?  That's where I'm at with my latest finish.  X Stitch Cutie Quilt using Garden Gathering Fabrics from Primitive Gatherings for Moda Fabrics.

I bought the Garden Gatherings fat quarter tower and selected the pink, red, purple, and yellow/orange fabrics for my quilt.  Since I adore pink, I bought more pink fabric for the border.

As with most Cutie Patterns, the piecing is pretty simple.  This quilt has two different background fabrics which adds an extra punch.

I quilted continuous curve in the blocks and ribbon candy around the blocks.  Because ribbon candy is the most perfect machine quilting pattern in existence.  You could disagree with me, but then you'd be wrong.  ;-)

I quilted one-inch pumpkin seeds in the border using a one-inch grid stencil and am absolutely delighted with how it turned out:

My sister called "dibs" on this quilt so I have to give it away, but in an alternate universe, this quilt has a forever home with me.

I filmed the machine quilting so you could see that it is possible to get this glorious texture on a quilt using a home sewing machine.  Watch the video below:

Have you made the X Stitch Cutie Quilt yet?  Which fabric did you choose?  I think I need to make another X Stitch in blues because I am in need of several gift quilts.
