MAIL CALL: Flag of France

While I was at Festival of Quilts in Birmingham this month, I took some extra time and headed to Paris.  This sparked a new postcard for Little Boy.

I pieced the three strips, fused them to stabilizer and a backing, and then trimmed the postcard using my Postcard Trimming Tool:

I wrote a few facts about France and the flag on the back of the card, added a personal message, placed it in a cellophane envelope, and arranged to have it mailed to Little Boy from home while I was in Paris:

I'm home this week, planning more postcards for Little Boy.  I'll finish the alphabet and then figure out my next series of weekly surprises in the mail.

I know you don't show the other side of your postcards due to keeping the addresses private, but do you draw a line and put the address on one side and your message on the other, just like a regular postcard? or are you putting your address on the clear envelope? My postcard kit is on the way and I can't wait to make some postcards. Thank you!

Debbie, you are an inspiration. I can emphasize with your struggles brought on by your disease. I've had Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue for the last 15 years. The first 5 years or so were the worst, However, I found doctors who treated the disease, rather than mask the pain. As time went on, my pain levels were reduced and the right combinations of medications controlled what pain I did have. Add to that, there's 2 very dear people in my family that I'm caring for, both of whom have severe illnesses. And here's why I think you are an inspiration: you're quilting, designing Cutting patterns (which I love) teaching locally and internationally. You're doing what you love and not letting your disease control your life. If you can do all this, than I certainly can climb those 18 stairs up to my sewing room, something I rarely do these days. So, thank you for sharing your story, which gave me a push to take back the things that I love.
