Use It Up, Wear It Out, Make It Do, or Do Without...

I'm a frugal person.  I believe in the old saying and I apply it to quilting.

1.  Use it up -- I believe in using every last scrap of fabric
2.  Wear it out -- I want people to use my quilts and I promise to replace them if it becomes necessary
3.  Make It Do -- I'll use fabric on hand rather than buying new when I can
4.  Do Without -- ARE YOU CRAZY?  I'd never do without quilting or quilting fabrics.  That's just plain wrong.

Last fall I made a quilt (my Bull's Eye Cutie pattern using BG Modern Ink fabrics)

And then I made a quilt from the leftovers:

And then I made some placemats with the leftovers:

And then I sewed the very small bits of fabric that were left together:

And used it to make these cute little zipper pouches:

And then there was no more fabric left.

The end.

Bravo! All beautiful projects! It's a great strategy to keep the fabric stash under control! I should try this! On the other hand....

Wow you sure did use every last piece! Wonderful projects - all - and how amazing that they all look different and not clones of each other. You had me laughing out loud at the do without part.

Love the use of the little bits on the pouches. Great idea.
