What Could Have Been So Important?

I'm excavating my sewing room and I discovered this quilt top:

It measured 64x80 and just needed borders.

I remember making it from a pattern in Nickel Quilts:

I remember that it was the Jewel Box pattern:

What I can't for the life of me remember is why, over five years ago,  I abandoned a proejct that only needed borders?  Who does that?

I'll be adding borders this afternoon, and maybe just maybe I won't put it away for another five years before I quilt it.

Love that quilt! And I love Nickel quilts. I haven't made one yet, however, I have almost all the scrap fabric I need to get started. I haven't stopped working on a quilt with only the borders to finish but I have a good number of quilts in various stages of doneness, aka UFO's
I can only imagine that you had a very good reason for stopping when you did.
On another note, a while back you asked for recommendations for books that we've enjoyed. I'm reading a series of 6 books (yound adult) called The Heroes of Olympus by Rick Riordan. It's well written and the characters are well developed. You might like it.
I love reading your blog, thanks for sharing your quilt journey with us.
