Design Wall Monday

I'm home from MQX and working on my new quilt along.

I am using a bunch of patriotic fabrics from my stash so I can donate this quilt to Quilts of Valor.

My first attempt didn't go so well:

I used a 4-inch triangle template, but it wasn't an equilateral triangle. I switched over to my regular ruler and used the 60-degree line. It worked like a charm!

Head on over to Judy's blog to see what everyone else is doing.

you could sew your first effort together and use it as a bowl or upturned for covering food from flies etc...
I will take note of the need for a 60 degree triangle, I've been mulling over doing a block like those, and it would never have occurred to me to check!

Love these hexagon blocks! I have a quilt all cut out for this, just haven't sewn it yet.

Love your hexagon blocks. It should turn out a beautiful QoV! I am also particiapting - and am glad I used the 60 degree ruler from the beginning..

I am sorry to be laughing, but that is just like what I did last week. I worked it all out, I thought, and my kalidascope turned out looking just like your first one!

I had a good laugh, thanks!

tee hee - thanks for sharing your oops. (or "Uh Oh" as Jacob would say.)
Great idea to make it for QOV.
